Privacy Policy

1. What Rewindly Is

Rewindly is a Chrome extension that allows you to save web pages, videos, posts, notes, images and files for later reading. It is developed and operated by Aevon Systems.

2. Data Stored on Your Device

The following data is stored entirely in your browser using Chrome's local storage API. It never leaves your device and is never transmitted to any server:

• All your saved items including URLs, titles, descriptions and thumbnails
• Your folder names and organisation
• Your theme preference (light or dark)
• Uploaded file data for attachments and images
• Your session information after signing in

3. Data Stored on Our Servers

If you choose to sign in with Google, we store the following in our database (hosted on Supabase):

• Your email address
• Your display name
• Your profile picture URL (from Google)
• Whether you have an active Pro plan
• Your Pro plan start and end dates
• Your payment reference ID (from Razorpay) if you upgrade

We do not store any of your saved content, notes, URLs or files on our servers. Guest users who do not sign in have no data stored on our servers at all.

4. Google Sign In

Signing in is optional. It is only required if you want to verify and manage a Pro plan. We use Google OAuth to authenticate you. We receive your email address, name and profile picture from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.

5. Payments

Payments are processed by Razorpay. We do not store your card details, bank details or any payment instrument information. When a payment is completed, Razorpay notifies us with your email address and a payment reference ID which we use to activate your Pro plan.

6. Permissions We Request

Rewindly requests the following browser permissions and uses them only as described:

• storage: To save your bookmarks and settings locally on your device
• activeTab: To read the current page title, URL and metadata only when you click the Save button
• scripting: To extract metadata from the page you are saving
• tabs: To open the My Saves dashboard and detect the current page URL
• identity: To enable optional Google Sign In for Pro plan management

Rewindly does not run in the background on pages you visit. It only activates when you click the extension icon.

7. Third Party Services

Rewindly uses the following third party services:

• Supabase: Database hosting for user accounts and Pro plan status. Privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy
• Razorpay: Payment processing. Privacy policy at razorpay.com/privacy
• Google OAuth: Authentication. Privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy
• Google Favicon Service: Used to display website favicons on saved cards. This is a public Google API and no personal data is sent to it.

8. Data Retention

Your locally stored saves are kept until you delete them or uninstall the extension. Your account data in our database (email, name, Pro status) is retained as long as you have an account. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us.

9. Children

Rewindly is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we make significant changes to this privacy policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Rewindly after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
